Frequently Asked Questions
🎨 Workshops & Designs
Can I create my own rug design?
Yes, you’re welcome to choose your own design. Please send your chosen image at least 48 hours before your workshop so we can bring the right yarn colours, check it meets our design requirements, make any necessary adjustments, and prepare it on the canvas in advance. Flash designs are also available if you’d prefer to choose from a set option.
Do I need to draw the design myself?
No. Your design will be transferred onto the canvas before you arrive, based on the reference you provide. This allows you to focus on the tufting process during the session and gives you enough time to finish.
Are there limits on colours or detail?
Yes. To help ensure your rug can be completed comfortably within the session, we recommend 3–4 colours for smaller designs and avoiding very fine lines or tiny details. We’ll review your design in advance and let you know if any changes are needed. For our guidelines please click here!
I’ve never tufted before, is this workshop beginner friendly?
Absolutely. Our workshops are designed for beginners and include step-by-step guidance throughout the session. No previous experience is required.
Please note: While full guidance will be given on how to use the tufting equipment safely and correctly, there is a small risk of the canvas tearing during the workshop. In some cases, a torn canvas cannot be repaired, and there may not be sufficient time to restart or complete a new rug within the session.
As workshops involve significant preparation, time, and materials, bookings are non-refundable in these circumstances.
Can I work on personal artwork or a student project?
Yes! Personal and academic projects are welcome. If you’re an art or design student, feel free to contact us before booking to discuss your idea and make sure the workshop is suitable.
Can more than one person work on the same rug?
Most workshops are designed for one participant per rug to ensure everyone has enough space and time. Any exceptions will be clearly stated in the workshop description.
📅 Booking, Payments & Cancellations
Can I book last minute?
Bookings are subject to availability and preparation time. Because designs must be reviewed and prepared in advance, same-day bookings may not always be possible. We recommend booking ahead where possible.
Can I reschedule my booking?
Rescheduling is subject to our Refund & Reschedule Policy. If you need to move your booking, please contact us as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to help.
What if I need to cancel my booking?
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellations made more than 72 hours before the workshop can be transferred to a future date or credited for another session.
Unfortunately, cancellations within 72 hours of the workshop are non-refundable, as materials and preparation will already have been arranged. If something unexpected comes up, just get in touch, we’ll always do our best to be fair. Subject to our Refund & Reschedule Policy.
Is there a discount for group bookings?
Yes, we offer group discounts depending on group size and workshop type. Any available discounts will be shared at the time of booking.
Can I book a private or corporate event?
Yes. We offer private tufting workshops for birthdays, celebrations, and team events. We can host in one of our partnering venues or if you have enough space, tables and chairs, we may be able to bring the workshop to you! Please email us with your preferred date, group size, and any ideas you have, and we’ll help plan your session.
Will my workshop definitely go ahead?
Workshops run with a minimum of 5 participants to ensure everyone gets the best experience and enough one-to-one guidance. If the minimum number isn’t met, you’ll be contacted before the session and offered either a rescheduled date, or a full refund. This doesn’t happen often, but we like to be upfront so you can book with confidence.
👕 On the Day
What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a little fluffy. Closed-toe shoes are recommended. If you have long hair, bring a hair tie for safety.
Do I need to bring anything?
No, all materials and equipment are provided. You may wish to bring earplugs or headphones if you’re sensitive to noise, as tufting guns can be loud.
Can I bring food or drinks?
Water is provided during workshops but bringing a bottle of drink is better to avoid spillage. Small snacks are welcome, but please avoid large meals or anything that could interfere with equipment or safety.
What happens if I arrive late?
Arriving on time helps ensure you get the full experience. If you arrive late, the workshop will still end at the scheduled time, which may affect your ability to complete your rug. But we understand things happen, so if you're running behind, please let us know by email or phone call as soon as possible, this helps us adjust the schedule accordingly.
